Darrell Edwards

Darrell Edwards became our pastor in 2015. A native of Oklahoma, he has served as pastor in churches since 1990.  Darrell and Ange, his wife of over 33 years, are the proud parents of six wonderful children, three of which are still in the home and teens (so pray for them!); Jakobi (14), Ashton (13) and Langley (12).  Ange has worked in the child protective services field for over 17 years.
They are also grandparents to Abby Kaelyn Fox (2009), Kason James Fox (2010), Annie Kaydence Fox (2015) and Alexandria (Aly) Mae Edwards (2014).  Pictured above.
Darrell's hobbies include sports, hunting, reading and enjoying his family.
Pastor Darrell's calling is to preach and teach the whole counsel of God; to call sinners to repentance; to motivate God's people to worship Him personally and corporately; to equip the people of God to do the work of ministry; to help build strong families and community all according to Ephesians 4:15 "speaking the truth in love."
His favorite Bible verse is Psalm 115:3 "Our God is in the Heavens; He does all that He pleases."
Darrell's favorite sports teams are the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, but also and unfortunately the Oklahoma Sooners.  Maybe we can learn to forgive him on this one.
...Oh, and of course any his children or grandkids may be playing on!

English Translation

Juan A. Briseño and his wife Janet have a son, (John Anthony). On the last year at Mission High School, Juan got invited to attend First Baptist Church of Mission, Texas and made a decision by feeling, and fear for going straight to hell but his life continued the same. After attending second semester in College, Juan was facing many problems. Every door was closing. (One day in his room crying out, not knowing what to do). In this moment of desperation he saw a black dusty book (Holy Bible) that he received like a gift by opening the first time in Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

God’s Holy Spirit convicted him that he was lost. He knelled down and prayed the sinner’s prayer:

"Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner and that I deserve to go to hell. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I do now receive him as my Lord and personal Savior. I promise to serve you to the best of my ability. Please save me. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

After graduation from College, came to the Dallas Metroplex for a job offer. He became a member of Iglesia Bautista Fuente de Vida at Richardson, Texas for 6 years (1989-1995). He taught Youth Sunday school and Children’s Church. Juan was ordained to the ministry by: Fuente de Vida a Hispanic Mission of Richardson Heights. He has served as President of Dallas Hispanic Singles Association, representing 55 churches (1991 & 1992). His responsibilities were organizing rallies each month, seminars, retreats, volleyball tournaments, lock-in and city-wide crusades in order to reach gang members and teaching youth/singles how to overcome fears, drugs, peer-pressure, abortion, etc. Juan and his wife later became members of First Baptist Church at Sachse, Texas for 6 years (1995-2001). He taught Spanish Sunday School Class. Juan is now a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church as the Hispanic Pastor.
